This MSTR cash-secured put was an earnings play.
Having tracked MSTR’s past year of earnings reactions, I noticed that earnings reports tend to have minimal direct impact on the share price. However, implied volatility (IV) consistently spikes around earnings, offering attractive option premiums.
This time, MSTR delivered a solid report and the market responded positively, pushing the stock up nearly 6% by week’s end. My contract expired worthless, and I pocketed the full premium — a straightforward, clean win from a calculated volatility play.
