In early April, with market sentiment hitting one of its most bearish levels ever—evidenced by surveys like AAII Bull-Bear—I, as a long-term investor, decided to take a contrarian stance. As pessimism peaked, I began buying, focusing on growth stocks and cryptocurrencies, particularly Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana. Despite the initial downturn, signs of a market bottom emerged, with the $SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust(SPY)$   showing early recovery signals. For a long-term inves

H1 2025 has been a roller-coaster for me. I opened the year with a gain of around USD 75000 in unrealised profits. Then came Trump with his tariff bombs and saw the portfolio dip to a loss of USD 60000. Had to just grit & bear it and stick to conviction picks, keep the focus on and not panic & start restructuring the portfolio as and when required. Now I again see a gain of USD 65000. So, basically 2025 taught me a few lessons (1) stick to quality (2) don't panic and make decisions (3) on days when thr noise is maximum shut down the app & sleep (4) book profits regularly & reenter if required to save the gains. This point is something I am still to master. But life is all about learning and, God willing, I will learn doing this too.

Definitely, rates cut is in many people's mind. One potential beneficiary would be gold and silver! It's not just rates cut; the continuous falling USD exchange rate is a key factor here as well. With the passing of the silly "big beautiful" tax cut bill in US, USD will continue to suffer. Precious metals group will benefit. I recommend some small but highly potential miners, $Sun Silver Ltd(SS1.AU)$ , $Mithril Silver and Gold Ltd(MTH.AU)$ , $James Bay Minerals Ltd(JBY.AU)$ . Another sector to benefit fr

The calendar pages seem to turn faster each year. The first six months were a whirlwind of geopolitical tremors, stubborn inflation, and explosive, sector-specific rallies that either padded accounts handsomely or left investors staring at the charts, wondering, "How did I miss that?" Let's cut to the chase and review the key opportunities of H1 2025. This isn't about bragging rights; it's about dissecting the anatomy of a successful trade to sharpen our instincts for the second half of the year. H1 2025: What Went Down The first half of 2025 was a wild ride. The U.S. markets were all over the place — S&P 500 and Nasdaq took hits early on, thanks to tariff talk and the Fed messing with rates. Tech giants like Apple, Nvidia, and Alphabet got smacked in a late 2024/early 2025 correction but started climbing back by spring. Over in Europe, markets like the MSCI Europe were shaky with trade war vibes, while Asia was a mixed bag — China’s CSI 300 got a boost from stimulus, and Japan’s Nikkei had its moments. Sectors like AI, clean energy, and healthcare were hot. Oh, and crypto? Bitcoin was on a tear, probably kissing $80K-$100K, riding that post-2024 halving wave and big-money hype.
