NeoClouds Biz Model. Neoclouds like NBIS and CRWV buys AI chips and rents out to hyperscalers like OpenAI and Anthropic. Their claimed forward revenues seems positive.  But I see problems with this biz model. Firstly, they borrow huge amount of cash to buy the chips.  Secondly, cost of capital is rising.  Thirdly, the chips they are bought are current or even past models. And technology is fast evolving with faster and better chips being developed every day.  Fourthly, the forward revenue, or order books, are mostly not guaranteed. The customers may not go ahead with the purchases.  This Is a bit like buying a piece of land, engaging a contractor to build a shopping centre, based on the promise that the entertainment operator will come and open a complex at your pr

An environmental screen would matter to me, but only after I understand what it actually changes in the portfolio. The interesting part of this ETF is not simply the “low carbon” label. It cuts the heavy concentration in Singapore banks and introduces greater exposure to REITs, industrials, technology and companies such as Sea and Trip.com. That diversification comes with a trade-off. The STI’s huge bank exposure has been a major advantage recently, which helps explain why the Low Carbon ETF has lagged badly in 2026 YTD despite performing well in earlier years. I would therefore compare long-term risk-adjusted returns, sector concentration and the 0.53% TER before choosing it over a cheaper STI ETF. A lower carbon intensity is a positive feature, but I would not accept materially weaker d

Coinbase’s biggest opportunity may no longer be simply riding Bitcoin’s next rally. Despite weaker industry trading activity, Q3 Adjusted EBITDA rose 60% QoQ to $333 million, while Subscription and Services contributed 49% of net revenue. Its crypto trading market share also climbed to 10.7%, marking four consecutive quarters of gains. More importantly, prediction markets have surpassed $200 million in annualized revenue. Stablecoins and derivatives could make Coinbase less dependent on retail trading cycles. However, investors should not confuse accounting profits with sustainable growth. Q3's $719 million net income included substantial crypto investment gains. My view: COIN deserves a bullish long-term outlook, but I would avoid chasing before recurring earnings confirm the recovery. T

Alibaba’s Apple Partnership: A Bigger AI Opportunity Than It First Appears

$Alibaba(BABA)$  is attracting renewed attention after reports that Apple has selected Alibaba’s Qwen AI models to support Apple Intelligence features in China. Citi analysts view the partnership as a meaningful endorsement of Alibaba’s AI technology, with the potential to generate additional demand for Alibaba Cloud. Alibaba shares gained 3.23% in US trading, while its Hong Kong-listed shares also moved higher. I think this development is worth watching because the opportunity could extend well beyond a short-term share-price reaction. Alibaba has traditionally been associated with e-commerce, but its longer-term investment story is increasingly connected to cloud computing and artificial intelligence. The Apple partnership could help a

Apple Earnings Tonight. I Think Everyone Is Watching the Wrong Quarter.

Apple reports tonight. Wall Street expects roughly: Revenue: $113.4B EPS: $1.99 Apple is sitting around: $344 near record territory. So naturally everyone is asking: CAN APPLE BEAT AND HIT ANOTHER ALL-TIME HIGH? I think that is the wrong question. Because Apple's most important new product: THE IPHONE DUO is barely relevant to the quarter Apple is reporting. It launched AFTER the quarter ended. So tonight's biggest number may not be Q4 revenue. It may be: THE Q1 FY2027 GUIDE. That is where the real battle begins. 🔥 TONIGHT IS REALLY A PREVIEW OF APPLE'S NEXT CYCLE The reported quarter gives us: iPhone 18 launch-week demand Services growth gross margin China supply constraints. AMD Has the AI Orders. Tomorrow We Find Out Whether It Has the AI Economics.

Apple and AMD report this week. Apple has the iPhone replacement cycle. AMD has something potentially much bigger: GIGAWATTS OF AI DEMAND. OpenAI. Meta. Anthropic. Microsoft. These are not speculative customer names. AMD has built one of the most impressive AI customer pipelines outside Nvidia. Yet AMD around: $516 creates a very different problem. The market no longer needs proof that customers WANT AMD chips. It needs proof that AMD can turn those commitments into: REVENUE → MARGIN → CASH. That is the real earnings test. 🔥 AMD'S AI STORY HAS QUIETLY CHANGED A year ago, investors were asking: Can AMD genuinely challenge Nvidia? I think that question is becoming outdated. QQQ closed Friday at: $690.49 down: 3.47%. The Nasdaq fell almost 3%. Semiconductors were crushed. AMD fell 10.9%. Nvidia fell 4.2%. Intel collapsed 28.6%. Midterm Election Preview: A Republican Setback Could Trigger the Worst-Case Scenario

The congressional midterm elections, the biggest political event in the United States this year, finally go to a vote this week. Trump has gone to extraordinary lengths ahead of the election, first capturing Venezuela's president and then assassinating Iran's supreme leader. He had hoped that these unconventional measures would free up more crude oil supply, push oil prices down and bring inflation under control. Instead, Iran closed the strait, which remains shut. Oil prices surged, and inflation began rising again. Current market forecasts suggest a significant chance that Republicans will lose control of both the House and the Senate. If that happens, Trump will find it difficult to implement his policies over the remaining two years of his term, or will once again be drawn into protrac

What happened Intel closed Friday at $65.76, down 28.58% from Thursday's $92.07. According to CNBC, it was the stock's worst day since 1974. Intel Down 28.6%: Government Backing Isn’t a Substitute for Profits

$Intel(INTC)$ suffered a brutal 28.58% decline on Friday, closing at $65.76. The reported $11 billion paper loss on the US government’s investment adds another layer of concern. For investors, this raises a bigger question: has the market overreacted, or is Intel facing a more fundamental problem that government support cannot solve? I think this is a stock worth watching, but I would be careful about calling it a bargain simply because the share price has fallen sharply. 1. Government support has limits The US government’s investment in Intel reflects the strategic importance of domestic semiconductor manufacturing. Reducing reliance on overseas chip production is a long-term national priority. However, government backing does not guarantee

AI Bubble Fears Grow as Nasdaq Falls 2.86%: Who Will Pay for the AI Boom?

The AI trade is facing another reality check. The Nasdaq Composite fell 2.86%, as concerns emerged around the financing requirements of major AI companies. Reports that OpenAI’s fundraising commitments fell short of its original target, alongside a negative Wall Street assessment of Anthropic’s financial position, have added to investor anxiety. For much of the past year, the market has rewarded companies connected to AI expansion. Semiconductor manufacturers, cloud providers and data-centre operators have benefited from expectations of enormous future demand. But investors are beginning to ask a more difficult question: how much capital can the AI industry continue absorbing before the financial returns become visible? I think this is an important turning point for the sector. 1. AI deman
